For The Design Student

If you’re just getting started in design, I want you to know something early: No one begins as an expert, and while not everyone enters this field with the same intuitive eye, great design can be nurtured through curiosity, observation and care.

Real design isn’t built overnight and despite what social media may suggest, it doesn’t come from chasing trends or having the most expensive tools. It begins with that curiosity and is expanded further through education. It starts with paying attention. With learning how people move through a space, what comforts them, what frustrates them, and what supports life through these spaces.

I created this collection for design students, creatives, and curious minds who want a more honest, grounded starting place. These books, tools, websites and resources are things that I’ve used as a student and continue to return to. They are meant to support not only your technical knowledge, but your design eye, your intuition, and your confidence as you grow as a designer.

The world doesn’t need more performative designers. It needs thoughtful ones—people willing to listen, learn, stay curious and design consciously. Not carelessly. I hope this helps you on your journey with a little more clarity and a lot more encouragement. Good luck and never stop learning!
