I’m a West Virginia native, born and raised, with eight formative years spent in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania—two places that shaped me in very different ways. The contrast in pace, architecture and character between them continues to influence how I envision and approach design.
My interest in interior design began around the age of nine. What started as a simple curiosity in watching my mother rearrange and decorate my bedroom. It quickly became something more instinctive. I found myself paying close attention to the spaces she created, noticing what worked and what didn’t long before I had the language to explain why.
By the time I was around thirteen, I was introduced to The Sims, and it didn’t take long to realize I was far more interested in building and designing homes than actually playing the game as intended. That interest only deepened from there. My father encouraged it wholeheartedly by buying me the full collection and even building me a computer powerful enough to run it all! And my aunt gifted me my first real interior design software when I was fifteen years old.
From that point on, I was fully immersed. I began experimenting on my own, developing an eye through observation and hands-on exploration. I sketched out floorplans, reimagined my own bedroom, drove my mother nuts by moving furniture around constantly, and spent hours designing rooms that existed only in my head—long before I realized this was something I could truly pursue.
Formal education came later. I attended The New York Institute of Art & Design, where I studied interior design and refined what had once been intuitive creativity into something more structured and concrete. That experience allowed me to bridge instinct with technical understanding, which is something I consider highly essential to strong design.
Today, my work is grounded in that balance.
I believe interior design is more than visual. It’s functional, psychological and deeply personal. It has the power to move and inspire people. A well-designed space should not only look methodical, but feel natural to exist in. It should shape and support the way someone lives, not just how a room appears.
I’m deeply passionate about interior design and endlessly fascinated by it. I’m always observing, always studying. It’s something I live and breathe and a constant presence that feels both natural and thrilling to me. I love interior design and it makes me immensely happy to do what I love.
My design approach centers on functionality, balance, and practicality. I believe individuality and taste can be expressed authentically without sacrificing refinement, and that a space can feel polished without losing its personality. My belief is that everyone deserves an inviting, livable space that inspires and reflects individuality through thoughtful design planning and strong execution.
Over time, I’ve developed a particular sensitivity to inauthentic design and weak methodology and I’m especially drawn to troubleshooting spaces that need refinement, correction, and a more intentional layer of personality.
Outside of design, I’m someone who enjoys reading, antiquing, and sipping tea on my porch. I also have a deep appreciation for the arts, music and costume design, and yes—cats are very much part of the equation.
This space exists as both a portfolio of my work and a place to share my perspective—always honest, occasionally critical, but always rooted in a genuine love and respect for the craft of interior design. Please enjoy.
