Rika’s Favorite Finds / May 2026

Last month I finished up my spring cleaning and managed to check off quite a bit around the house. That said, my plate is still very full. I’ve been working through organizing the garage, pulling together all of my gardening supplies, tackling a second pantry and getting through what feels like endless repairs and deep cleaning!

Bed linens, towels, kitchen accessories… just about everything is being rotated, refreshed or replaced. This place is getting a full head-to-toe reset!

So, here are a few of my favorite finds that came out of my spring cleaning efforts last month.

Mavwicks Room & Linen Spray

In the spirit of spring cleaning during the month of April, one of the first things I set out to find was a good home fragrance. I treat scents in my home the same way I treat my personal fragrance. I stick to a few key notes and rotate depending on the mood, the day or the overall vibe I’m going for.

I wanted something I could use daily that would also be safe around people, pets and surfaces. I avoid harsh chemicals whenever possible. I’m not interested in wrecking my endocrine system for the sake of a “clean” smell. But I also wasn’t willing to compromise on scent or longevity.

And ohhh… I found exactly what I was looking for!

The first scent I picked up was Velvet Cherry from the Mavwicks Room & Linen Spray line. It’s genuinely delicious and slightly sweet, soft, a little powdery, but still clean.

But I wanted something that leaned a bit more sophisticated and that’s where Luxe comes in. This one lives up to its name. It has that polished, almost five-star hotel vibe. It’s clean, layered and luxurious.

For those of you who care about fragrance notes (like I do), Mavwicks describes it as opening with clean, ozone-infused fruity green notes, followed by jasmine and lily of the valley and grounded with woody, musky undertones. It’s balanced, not overpowering and works beautifully as an everyday scent.

While Luxe is my current favorite, Velvet Cherry is a close second since it is slightly more delicate and a bit sweeter.

Mavwicks offers a wide range of products beyond sprays as well, including laundry and cleaning products. I picked mine up on Amazon, but they’re also available directly through their website.

Paige Denim

Somewhere between cleaning sessions, I did what any reasonable person would do… I went online shopping for jeans. Duh.

Full transparency, this was a bit of a panic purchase. I needed black jeans to replace a pair that had absolutely given up on life. They were hanging on by a thread. It was a problem, okay?

After a bit of digging, I landed on PAIGE, a Los Angeles–based brand founded by Paige Adams-Geller, a former fit model who built the brand around exceptional fit. That caught my attention, but I found surprisingly little real feedback on how the jeans actually held up over time, which made me hesitate a little bit.

But what did your girl do? I took the risk anyway and ordered three pairs.

No regrets.

I tend to stick to black and dark wash denim and I was fully expecting at least some fading after washing. Nothing. No fading, no shrinking, no weird bunching or loss of shape. They held up exactly how I wanted them to.

Between my longtime Talbots bootcut staples and my new PAIGE Verdugo ankle jeans and Hoxton Ultra Skinny, I’m officially set. If you’re looking for denim that’s flattering, holds its structure and actually lasts, these are worth considering.

KitchenAid Ribbed Soft Silicone Pot Holders

I don’t think I want another cloth pot holder in my house ever again to be perfectly honest with you. I actually had some pot holders from Kohl’s for ages from The Food Network. And yes, I tend to be extremely suspicious about network-branded products or companies that I couldn’t fathom would have a clue about producing good housewares, but honestly – they weren’t terrible.

They held up very well and for a long time and they were cloth but had grippy texture to them. But these KitchenAid silicone pot holders are a god-send. I have them in black and in a gorgeous beige called Milkshake. It reminds me of milk-tea almost. I love how well they grip pots and these protect my hands so much more reliably than any cloth pot holder could. Not to mention, they’re also super easy to clean. These were found on Amazon.
